First project.


The first project is a series of three videos showing the basic principles of construction of the ship's surface. In this series shows how to create a new project, select a grid on frames, waterlines and buttocks, import prototype surface and how to build a model of the ship's surface. Detail shows the basic principles of working with the system.

First project->Create new project and import template surface from IGES file.


This video shows how to create a new project, specify the coordinate system and the grid on frames, waterlines and buttocks, creating a block for prototype surface and import it from the IGS file. Please pay special attention to the definition of several areas of the grid for the frames and the recommended block and color for the prototype.

First project->Fore body modeling


This video shows the construction of the boundary lines of the surface of the ship's bow - line of flat bottom, stem, flat side line and the deck line, bilge radius. The main ways to edit the shape of the curves - the change of control points position, set of horizontal and vertical tangents at the end points of the curve, increasing the number of control points for more accurate approximation to the desired shape of the curve. Similarly shows how to modify the surface, smoothing and approximation to the surface of the prototype.

This video shows the construction of the flat side and a flat bottom surfaceы, parallel mid body, main surface in aft ship and aft skeg. Building surfaces by using the extrusion surface. Also shown how to make a surfaces intersection lines and lines and surfaces trimming.

Drivers.


Drivers is a set of points, lines and surfaces are dependent on the controls. Drivers, presented in the Shape Maker, helps to build ruled surfaces and lines more easy and quickly. User can't edit drivers directly. Shape of driver depends from shape of elements on which driver build. After "Explode driver" command, elements became a usual set of lines , points and surfaces and can be directly modified. It is possible "explode" all driver or just some part of it.

Drivers->Extruding.


Extruding is most usable driver in the Shape Maker. I can be used for parallel mid body building. Flatt and ruled surfaces can be build with help this driver.

Drivers->Rotation.


Rotation driver is used for building surfaces of rotation. There is quite a lot of surfaces like that in modern wheelhouses, superstrucrtures and tanks. Rotation surfaces can be also used for side thrusters surfaces modeling.

Drivers->Fillet.


Fillet driver is used for rounding corners of two connected lines. It can be used for different type of cutouts. Similar to other drivers fillet depends from connected lines and will be updated after lines modification.

Pipe driver is used for building surfaces of pipes. Similar to other drivers pipe depends from connected lines and will be updated after lines modification.

Pipe driver is used for building profile surfaces of pipes. I can be used for example fro building bilge keel.

Offset driver is used for offset surface.
